Colectivo Prado presents the work of Iván Correa, a member of this collective made up of professionals from the Prado National Museum, at Hybrid Art Fair 2026. The proposal constitutes a transition towards the imagination of a contemporary follower of Bosch, where Correa articulates mystical and timeless images nourished by a personal mythology.
Through symbolic architecture laden with mystery and tension, the artist invites us to reflect on the collective unconscious and the perennial conflict between nature and civilisation. His practice is notable for his mastery of fumage, a technique that uses soot from a flame to draw in negative. Using a scalpel, Correa creates meticulous patterns and textures whose linear modulation recalls the mastery of classical engravers.
The experience in the room is designed to immerse visitors in the legacy of the Prado from the perspective of those who guard its secrets. To facilitate observation of the microscopic scale of the pieces, the following will be made available to the public allowing an intimate approach to detail. The project is completed with the exhibition of the creative process through video and live drawing demonstrations, offering a unique perspective born from daily interaction with the great Flemish masters.
