Cartagena Cultura's proposal for Hybrid Art Fair 2026 brings together the works of Arturo Méndez, María Briones and Javi Cruzado, three artists who explore the image as trace, memory and interference. Through painting—a transversal medium that translates, alters, or erodes the visual—they question the fidelity of representation and reveal the fragility of any image as a document. Ephemeral lights and shadows, portraits riddled with glitches, and pictorially intervened archives coexist in an exhibition that raises the instability of memory and the impossibility of a single reading.
The proposal will be adapted to the layout of the exhibition space, creating a route where the works interact with each other and with the architecture, inviting viewers to engage with open, fragmented and transforming images.
