At this edition of Hybrid Art Fair 2026, Galerie Gezwanzig is coming for the first time to present "Between Surface and Intervention". With this project we are invited to enter the universe of Kata Oelschlägel, a work focused on deconstruction and reconciliation through an aesthetic that embraces ambiguity and questions our pre-established connotations.
Here, clarity is not asserted but diluted. Instead of radical gestures, the artist offers us fragments and strokes: traces of an action that function as a kind invitation rather than a confrontation. Elements such as the skin, the body and its wounds are translated into sculptural processes where the original act survives through its material resonance: in the thread, the stone and the digital support.
Oelschlägel deploys an aesthetic designed to move without resorting to shock, placing itself precisely in the "between", beyond what is defined. A unique opportunity to reflect on the memory of the body and its transformation into an artistic object.
