Systema Project argues that, although sufficient time has been devoted to learning Western-style painting since its arrival in the Meiji period, it is now time to create a contemporary art form that is unique and rooted in Japanese culture.
The gallery showcases artists who convey the spirit and culture of Japan, using traditional techniques to express art with a unique and contemporary sensibility. In this way, Galería Systema showcases neo-Japanese art, which it calls «NEJA-ism».
Systema Project was created with the aim of introducing unique young talents to the world. Derived from Systema Gallery, which began dedicating itself to art in 1982, it aims to be a bridge between talented Japanese artists and the global art market. The main gallery is located in Osaka, with additional locations in Kathmandu and Milan. While developing its business as the SYSTEMA fashion brand, it began exhibiting crafts in Tokyo and Kyoto. In 2011, the gallery moved to Osaka and also opened an exhibition space in Kathmandu, Nepal. Systema has exhibited in museums, galleries and art fairs around the world, and has already held more than 100 exhibitions.
