DISPLACED is a program of ephemeral interventions by independent artists in the fair's transit areas. The fair will host spontaneous works in unique spaces: installations based on the fleeting nature of their elements, such as light, found objects, participatory projects, actions, performances, etc.

The eighth edition of DISPLACED is sponsored by the Petit Palace Hotelity

Journey to the center of the self. Jacques Lacan said that there is a separation between the inner subject and the outer, with the outer subject always contained, using armor that protects him from all his inner chaos. And it is this chaotic interior that we propose to explore with this exhibition: a journey through our ego from which we will return with different souvenirs, memories of our most primitive "selves". We will use the suitcase of Birgit Zinner to start our journey, in which we will make different stops, since, as this artist exposes with her interconnected works, interruptions in the journey are an important part of the journey itself: We will deepen our more playful self, unbridled and free from all the shackles imposed on us by Sebastian Menschhorn’s "Strong Friends". We will go through our traumatic interior, full of psychological wounds that condition us, as Nico Cañal demonstrates. And with Jesus Escandon we will come into contact with nature, which is too often absent in our daily life, but will always be necessary for us. In short, a journey through our psychology from which we will return with different memories provided by these artists, which will allow us to know ourselves better.

Birgit Zinner

In Between / La Escala

With the installation ‘In Between / La Escala,’ Birgit Zinner revisits her interactive and performative project Mit Kofferkunst quer durch Europa (With Suitcase Art Across Europe), in which she adopts a dual identity: on the one hand, she presents herself as a travelling saleswoman with a sample collection of pieces; on the other, she freely plays with the established structures of the art market, exposing and questioning them through performative action. This initiative, which began in 2016, has taken her to Austria, Germany, the Netherlands and France.

The fundamental pillars of her work are immediacy and flexibility in dealing with unforeseen situations. On a formal level, her work explores themes such as repetition and intertwining, under a clear premise: the interruption of the journey is, in itself, part of the journey.

In this context, the hotel becomes a place of temporary stay and an intermediate stop; a space that provides the opportunity to organise, reflect, present and communicate the artistic process.

Nico Cañal

Lesiones

Nico Cañal reflects on injury not only as physical damage, but as a transcendental experience that inhabits the body and the psyche. Through his work, injury is revealed as an accumulation of traces—scars, marks, and memories—that condition the identity and perception of the individual beyond biological pain.

Based on his own medical history (fractures, chronic fibrosis and loss of mobility), the artist explores how physical damage leads to invisible trauma. Physical scars act as triggers for deep insecurity, manifesting in a persistent fear of vulnerability and an obsession with physical aesthetics.

Although Cañal has explored disciplines such as sculpture and photography, his preferred medium is figurative work on flat surfaces (canvas, board or paper). It is on these surfaces that he manages to capture his vision of the world, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a reality where physical wear and tear and emotional resilience are inextricably intertwined.

Six meticulous pen drawings, six clay sculptures reinforced with wire, symbolising tension and sharp pain, and two oil and acrylic paintings are the media he will use to explore vulnerability during Hybrid Art Fair 2026.

Sebastian Menschhorn

Happyversum

El The happyversum it is a utopia inhabited «Strong Friends» who live in playful freedom and who, beyond stereotypes and facades, guide us towards our own magic, towards our happiness. These colourful, smiling beings accompany us in the form of drawings and figurines.

Sebastian Menschhorn is the creator of The happyversumand his main goal in all his designs is to make us happy.

The site-specific installation is conceived in a space of continuous transit and travel where moss grows slowly and silently.

The work establishes a direct contrast between the natural rhythms of growth and the accelerated circulation of guests.

The project proposes a reflection on the pace of contemporary life and the need to introduce pause and contemplation of nature into a functional, everyday environment.

Carolina Lindberg

Suspended Time

Carolina Lindberg is a visual artist whose practice spans digital art, sculpture, textiles, and immersive installations. Her work stands out for blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary technology, constructing a vibrant and symbolic visual universe that explores concepts such as spirituality, consciousness, and materiality.

For Hybrid Art Fair 2026, she presents a site-specific installation consisting of a textile piece suspended in space. The work offers a profound reflection on time, understood not as a chronological measure, but as a non-linear and constantly changing experience. The use of digitally printed satin textiles acts as a visual representation of temporal fragmentation. At the same time, the metal structure and clock mechanism introduce a deliberate tension between the organic and the mechanical, highlighting the duality between time measured by the machine and time experienced through emotion.

Through a combination of techniques such as patchwork and digital processes, the installation symbolically suspends the flow of time. Lindberg invites viewers to inhabit a moment of pause and contemplation, transforming the dynamism of the architectural space into a place of introspection.

SURCO

FAN artistic practice is built on the accumulation and collision of cultural, visual and conceptual systems. In her work, far eastern philosophical traditions converge with contemporary western perspectives, integrating references ranging from science fiction and industrial engineering to poetry and mathematics. For the artist, collage does not function as a space for reconciliation, but rather as a temporal and spatial device that reveals irreversible transformations and states of instability.

In this edition of Hybrid Art Fair, she presents ‘SURCO’, a soft sculpture conceived as a device for inscription, wear and adaptive resistance. The work is structured through sewn, accumulated and sectioned textile layers that act as temporal strata. In this process, archaic manual techniques and digital collages coexist, blurring the boundary between the immaterial and the tactile.

Each intervention has an active condition, leaving irreversible traces, where time passes through matter to cut and deform it, creating a constellation of tensions that invites the viewer to take multiple visual journeys.

Diego g.

El ecologismo de los pobres

Diego G. has established a career in the political and social sphere. Influenced by figures such as Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui, Paul B. Preciado, and Marcelo Expósito, his practice focuses on researching subalternity and collective processes, reviving manual trades and practices that are in danger of disappearing. Through performance, installation and drawing, he seeks direct interaction with the environment and the issues that affect it.

‘The Environmentalism of the Poor’ is an in-depth exploration of subalternity based on the thinking of Antonio Gramsci. The research addresses historical migrations linked to water scarcity through a multidisciplinary approach that combines environmentalism and ceramics. Using the reconstruction and recycling of jugs and water bottles, the work functions as a metaphor for the human footprint and the vital importance of water. These pieces, arranged in columns or activated through performance, denounce eco-social crises and extractivism, positioning artistic practice as a space for resistance and sustainable awareness.

Ecos

Yoso conceives art as an instrument for profound analysis of the human being from unprecedented perspectives. His works emerge from dreams or fleeting visions that cross the mind in moments of wakefulness, giving them an enigmatic and surreal character. The artist defines himself as an observer mesmerised by the uniqueness of the individual, capturing in his work all facets of existence: from the materiality of flesh and bone to the immateriality of silence, the scream or movement.

For Hybrid Art Fair 2026 he presents "Ecos", a site-specific installation that intervenes in an essentially human space: the staircase.
