DRAG Makeup

A creative meeting to explore the many possibilities of Drag/Cuir makeup, taking into account some references from our transvestite practice, different techniques and aesthetic influences (Club kid, classic drag, visual effects, distortion, kabuki theater among others). We will then perform a makeup practice based on the designs and compositions on the face that they explore the participants. To close this workshop, we would like to propose a stage exercise in the form of a runway, where you can wear your creations in makeup and accompany with looks, to be presented as part of the contemporary art fair.
This activity is sponsored by the CCCQS-Quinta del Sordo and SICK, Kuir Care Research Society. The CCCQS is a self-managed cultural space located in the neighborhood of La Latina that promotes the interaction of artistic and cultural expressions through dissemination, research and collaboration among networks of professionals. SICK a LGBTBIQ+ community created in 2024 that collectively researches forms of mediation and artistic/cultural language. This project was born and developed in the CCCQS.
What do you need to participate?
We asked the participants, in case they have makeup items, to bring them into practice. While we will have basic makeup, we know that one can feel comfortable with their own personal makeup.
Reservations are required. Maximum 15 people.

Who runs the workshop?
ALThaus ALThaus is a dissident artistic juntanza that emerged in Colombia in 2009, founded by Cristhian Rueda (ALTeridades) and Camilo Ortiz (ALTocalcifílico) currently residing in Madrid, who are interested in the practices and discourses of Drag, Trans, Cuir, Feminists and Dissidents, are interested in questioning their identity and identity as a concept, the construction of gender, power relations, migration and decoloniality. In that crossroads, ALThaus emerged as a creation niche focused on visual arts, performance, living arts and design, forming a creative family with other creators who have linked up, in the desire to connect, weave, and recreate ourselves in our decision of ALTer the world.
